We are looking for a resourceful and proactive IT Support Technician to join our technical team in Thrissur. As the city evolves into a modern commercial hub with growing tech infrastructure, you will play a critical role in ensuring our hardware, software, and networking systems operate smoothly. You will be the go-to person for troubleshooting technical issues and maintaining the digital backbone of our local operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Hardware Maintenance: Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices across our office locations.
- Software Support: Install and update operating systems (Windows/Linux/macOS) and essential business applications, ensuring all software is properly licensed.
- Network Administration: Monitor and maintain local area networks (LAN), Wi-Fi systems, and VPN connections to ensure uninterrupted connectivity.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware and software faults, providing both in-person and remote support to staff.
- Security & Backups: Implement basic cybersecurity measures, manage antivirus software, and ensure regular data backups are performed successfully.
- Inventory Management: Maintain an accurate log of IT assets, including serial numbers, warranty details, and repair histories.
Qualifications
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certification: CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) is highly desirable.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocols, DNS, DHCP, and basic server management.
- Problem-Solving: Proven ability to think logically and resolve technical hurdles under pressure.
- Communication: Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff in both English and Malayalam.
Preferred Skills
- Cabling & Infrastructure: Basic knowledge of structured cabling and rack management.
- Cloud Services: Familiarity with managing users in Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace environments.
- Local Logistics: A valid driving license and a two-wheeler are preferred for providing support across different branches within Thrissur.
