We are looking for a creative and technically skilled Video Editor to join our production team in Thrissur. As the “Cultural Capital,” Thrissur provides endless visual inspiration—from the grandeur of the Pooram to the serenity of the Kole wetlands. We need someone who can take raw footage and transform it into high-impact visual stories that resonate with our audience across digital and social platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Post-Production: Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film, ensuring a logical and engaging flow.
- Audio Engineering: Input music, dialogues, graphics, and effects to enhance the overall production value.
- Color Grading: Perform color correction and grading to ensure visual consistency and a professional “look and feel.”
- Format Optimization: Export and optimize videos for various platforms, including high-res YouTube content, vertical Instagram Reels, and bite-sized ads.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Content Writers and Social Media Managers in Thrissur to understand project goals and creative briefs.
- Asset Management: Organize and archive raw footage and project files systematically for future use.
Qualifications
- Education: Degree or Diploma in Film Studies, Multimedia, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Software Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
- Motion Graphics: Solid understanding of Adobe After Effects for creating titles, transitions, and basic animations.
- Visual Sense: A strong eye for composition, pacing, and cinematic storytelling.
- Portfolio: A diverse showreel showcasing your best work (commercials, documentaries, or social media content).
Preferred Skills
- Sound Design: Basic knowledge of Audition or similar tools for cleaning up audio and layering soundscapes.
- Local Context: Experience filming or editing content related to Kerala’s festivals and culture is a huge plus.
- Adaptability: Ability to handle tight deadlines, especially during peak festival seasons like the Thrissur Pooram.
